Every Easter we prepare enough pickled fish to feed an army and have leftovers for days. On Good Friday pickled fish is a staple with a few other seafood dishes and of course hot cross buns

CapeMalay Deli had premixed spices on offer. There was a lady, Tasneem, selling fish and chips and some seafood options who also assured me her food was all halaal
Unusually for an Indian restaurant, a ceviche-style bowl of raw line fish was served with a CapeMalay dressing, coriander emulsion, saffron and pickled onion
We also had the curried coconut fishcakes which packed a real CapeMalay flavour punch and the balsamic onion marmalade and Camembert tart (the marmalade on the latter, while beautifully sweet and gorgeously jammy, overpowered the delicate Camembert to my taste though)
