In a large bowl, cover lima beans with water, cover with a towel and soak overnight. Add enough water to just cover the oxtails and bring the mixture to a boil
Season the oxtailswith salt and pepper and arrange in a single layer in the roasting dish. Remove oxtails from the roasting dish, discard fat and place oxtails into a lidded casserole dish
You can season them with normal salt and pepper or your favourite braai spice. Put the potjie back on the fire and add the oil, butter and chopped onion
