Ingredients

  • 2 cups cake flour (less 1 TBS)
  • 1 Tablespoon Maizena (Cornflour)
  • 1.5 cups table sugar (“granulated sugar”) DIVIDED
  • 1 Tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 8 eggs separated
  • 3 Tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 Tablespoon grated lemon zest (+/- about 2-3 medium sized lemons)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 Tablespoon butter Melted
  • 100 g Bourneville Dark Chocolate Melted
  • 75 ml Nestle Dessert Cream
  • 6 Tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 tbsp grated lemon zest
  • 2 cups icing sugar
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
