Ingredients

  • For the chutney (makes 1 litre)
  • 1 kg tomatoes, roughly chopped
  • 500 g red onions, halved and thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp (5ml) crushed garlic
  • 2 tsp (10ml) ginger paste
  • 200 g white sugar
  • 150 ml white vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp chilli flakes
  • 1 tsp (5ml) ginger paste to add at the end
  • sterilised jar(s) for storage
