I wanted quiche and I wanted to try it with a coconut flour crust. This has nothing to do with dessicated coconut and everything to do with coconut flour
I have played around with many different quiche bases over the years, even venturing into the gluten free and low carb options, but in terms of flavour and texture I have never made a crust that beats this one
While the sauce is cooling after cooking, line a greased oven proof dish with the puff pastry. To build the quiche, first place a layer of Lucky Star Pilchards on the bottom

Spek en Kaas quiche. KORSLOSE SOUTTERT/QUICHE. (geskik vir Diabete). 4 eiers. 3/4k Room. 3/4k Melk. 1/2k Kaas. 3/4k Spekvleis[gaar] of koue hoender of Ham blokkies
serve with warm vegetables. 2 bunch asparagus. Add the asparagus and sauté for 5 minutes. Add the peas and garlic, and sauté until the asparagus and peas are just tender, about 8 minutes
Clean and trim the fillet and tie it into a neat shape, securing with string. Remove from the oven and cover with foil for about 10 minutes before slicing
